Why do you need such a powerful computer for CAD? my school has CAD on computers much much less powerful than this..

Personally I prefer the Fire GL series.
That being said, the pro level card is worth it for rendering, especially in 3D CAD.
My father is a civil engineer, all of their draftsmen have a Quadro or Fire GL based system.
I'd go for it.
