OKay, I've read through a few guides, builds, and other topics for PvM smiters. I just need a few things cleared up.

The gear I plan to use is as follows:

Shako <- What to put into socket?
Coh
Grief PB
E exile with res
Dungo's
Treks
BK Ring
Raven
Maras

Now, do I have the right gear for a PvM smiter? I want to know if I need a Guill helm and gores and last wish, what sockets to fill and is max block needed for Ubers/DClone? I know which charms to use, and etc. I just need answers, but help and info is appreciated, so I an start to build this character. Thank you.

Well if you are making a stricly uber smiter, you definitely need to use last wish phase blade. thats the gear i use on my uber smiter:

-um'd kiras
-lwpb
-enigma (nice for skills and strength)
-eth exile vortex (45 all res) --> tap is very important
-rare ias gloves with dext/res
-dungos
-2x bk rings (no need raven, cbf is on kiras)
-goblin toes

I want him to be reliable overall for PvM. But again, mainly built for G Ubers/D Clone. I just want to know what bp's I should hit for everything, and things I should mainly worry about. Thanks for the advice Bruno. Why not Guillhelm abd LWZA?

because lw zerk is way too slow. lwpb is 30%ias faster than lw zerk. and lw + goblin toes = all the cb you need for ubers. trust me, my uber smiter have not died yet in ubers I guess you can swap the lw for a grief when you are doing regular PvM.

So for PvM I should wear:

Um'd Kira's
Enigma
Maras
2x Bk ring
Dungos
Dracs
E Exile w/ res
LWPB for ubers / Grief PB for all other PvM
And goblin toes?

No COH or Shako at any point?

dont use dracs, you need ias gloves, preferably with dext and res. and just swap lwpb (for ubers) to griefpb (regular PvM)

I have 75 all res, 95% CB, and 23% DR, and roughly 30% FHR. I know I'm supposed to build without a torch, anything else I'm missing?

Put an um rune in your kiras and you will need quite a few res charms in your inventory if your not using torch. Btw fhr is not important on a smiter.

Toss a Eth Lacerator into your stash, and a greif PB for normal monsters to use zeal on.

x37 20/5's in inventory (swap some with 5/5's if u think u need more FHR).



When I used my smiter, it prolly didn't do the most damage but I would almost never ever have to use a potion (not even when all three ubers attacked me at once) this is because of the life tap, resistance, defense ect.......

Thanks for the feedback er'body. Quick question, say I were to build with a torch, and I kill GUbers, will another torch still drop if I have one on me?

yes the unid torch drops but u cant pick it up if u already have one in your inventory

Yeah, I know that much. I haven't been too active since the tail end of .09. I made a few attempts at coming back, but this time I've made two characters to be self sufficient and this game is just too good when you remember it's nostalgic value. I play for fun now, just PvM, hang out with some friends. If they ever nerf TMC I hope to go back to PvP. Are there channels where people just kick it? I heard Tenj used to/still runs something every weekend, a free for all? Anyway, again, thanks for the advice. So, I guess Meph is who I'm worried about for GUbers. I wanna stack fire and light res mainly? I know the more for all res the better, but FR and LR for the most part?

actually id stack cold and light. meph's blizzard hurts.

Maybe a Raven in stash for Cold Absorb?

u should just try snowclash + 1 or 2 ravens if u wanna be sure to have a chance do sorb something lol

Joz mentioned an ETH lacerator? Would a non eth suffice? I mean, it's just for amp for smite, right? I should do alright with fade and tap against Meph if I stack rez more, not worrying too much about sorb. I see my friends GUber all the time with no sorb and similar gear. Just wanted to go with majority. SOme of my friends go with shako, some Guill, some COH, some Nigma, just wanna be able to hold my own.

yeah i dont use sorb on my smiter. max res + fade + tap is all you need.

Is maxblock needed? And what about skills? MAx fanny, smite, holy shield? I read through more guides and there aren't any agreeing on what you should max.

for ubers, max block is not needed but its always good to have. what i suggest is:

max smite
max holy shield
max fanaticism
then add points into res fire, res lightning and res cold. 2 pts = 1 max res. its passive, no need to turn the aura on.

sry bruno but i dclone hunt regularly and have done so for 2 years. you need dracs and also for gubers. would be retarded not to have them. goblin toes are good but i never had a prob with goreriders. lw zerker. or lw pb might be better. shako is good but coa is better. need anni and torch. pcomb lifers and 20/5s. raven and bk. dungos. evortex exile. maras helps too. all of that will def help you crush gubers. you can always wear dying hands...from that set for necros. does huge ed dmg to demons. cb, ed, ias, and life steal/tap are all you need. max those and your healthy wont even move. you should hit 50k defense. coh is good but nigma is better. no reason to spawn every fucking skele in gubers. gl!

I thought Life/Mana leach and damage to demons/undead/etc didn't apply for smite. Mainly looking for CB and decent smite damage with enough resto withstand conviction.
